Disney criticised after minor white ‘Aladdin’ character gets a spin-off

If centering on the buffoonish Prince Anders wasn't enough of an indication of the series' expected tone, Jordan Dunn and Michael Kvamme are writing the script. Dunn and Kvamme have written comedy together in the past, including Operation Prince of Freedom for Fox.

In Aladdin, Anders was a prince from a kingdom called Skanland and was Princess Jasmine's suitor. But a lot of individuals on Twitter weren't happy about it due to another Aladdin news that came out just three days before. 'He should have made millions.

After Aladdin raked in over $1 billion at the box office, it's understandable that Disney wants to cash in more on the idea. "Can I at least get an audition?" Like, can you just give me a chance?

The statement that Disney+ is now growing an Aladdin spinoff starring Billy Magnussen is causing quite the uproar on social networking. "So it's not always what you think".

Disney has already talked about making a live-action sequel to Aladdin, and has likewise shown serious commitment to providing exclusive content for Disney+ alongside the large library of classics available on the service.

However, fans did not take this development well, and began writing comments about how the actor who played Aladdin does not get work despite the commercial success of Aladdin.

The news outlet during the interview made the actor clarify that he was talking about his journey following the Disney live-action feature, and at no point "whining or complaining or is in any way ungrateful". He has a role in the upcoming Bond movie No Time to Die.

Disney's live-action version of Aladdin has been a massive hit and managed to bag in more than $1 billion at the worldwide box office.
