Disney: 'Honey I Shrunk the Kids' Reboot Underway

There's now no word on when we can expect to see the Honey, I Shrunk the Kids reboot premiere, though it's being reported that Disney plans to release the project in theaters rather than premiering it via Disney+.

The original 1989 film spawned two follow-ups, 1992's Honey, I Blew Up the Kid and Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves in 1997, but while Moranis starred in both movies, Johnston was not involved in either release.

Disney is reportedly working on a late restart / sequel to the classic 80's movie Honey, I shrunk the children, with Mouse House favorite Josh Gad (Frozen 2) set to star.

According to Variety, Gad pitched the idea for the reboot to Disney earlier this year.

Carmelo Anthony Considered Retirement Before Portland Offer
Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University and joined ESPNChicago.com for its launch in April 2009. Carmelo Anthony is back in the National Basketball Association and fans couldn't be happier. "I feel good", he said.

Shrunk, written by Todd Rosenberg, is said to be in the early stages of development, and if given the green light, is expected to receive a theatrical release, instead of premiering on the new Disney+ streaming service. To return home and be brought back up to their normal size, the kids must traverse the tall grass of the lawn to make their presence known before they get eaten by an insect... or even Wayne himself when one of the boys winds up in his father's bowl of cereal. The first film was Johnston's feature directorial debut, who went on to direct other classic 90s' films such as 1995's Jumanji starring Robin Williams and Jake Gyllenhaal's 1999 drama October Sky.

Gad has strong ties to Disney after the success of "Frozen" and it's recently released sequel along with 2017's live-action "Beauty and the Beast".

This is certainly interesting and if they'd be able to convince Rick Moranis out of retirement to reprise the role of Wayne.
