Boy brings his entire kindergarten class to witness his adoption hearing

Among those present at the courthouse on Thursday was Santa Claus, who visited with each of the families celebrating an adoption, according to the television station.

A five-year-old boy in MI has invited his whole kindergarten class to witness his legal adoption - and warmed hearts across the world.

A photo shared by Kent County on Facebook showed the little boy relaxing in an adult-sized courtroom chair, next to his adoptive parents.

A photo of the hearing appeared on the county's website, showing the child's kindergarten class smiling and waving hearts crafted from construction paper and taped onto rulers.

"He brings us a lot of joy", Melvin said.

"Never have I experienced that before, and it was loads of fun, the kids were into it and supporting their best friend, and the family of Michael", she said.

The Pencak Silat contingent also produced a gold medal, with Edmar Tacuel ruling the Men's Seni Tunggal (Singles) event. The Philippines was off to a hot start by winning four in obstacle course.

Judge Patricia Gardner told local news channel WZZM it was an "incredible" scene. "Family doesn't have to be DNA, because family is support and love".

Ms Melvin and Mr Eaton had been the boy's foster parents for around a year before the process was formally completed yesterday.

"Sometimes journeys [of adopted children] have been very long, they've included change for the children and family and [also] incredible community support as you're able to see today in Michael's adoption hearing", she said.

There was no shortage of love all around them in the courtroom.

He was so excited to officially be adopted, he invited his entire kindergarten class to his adoption hearing-and the ceremony was adorable.
