Military police are responding to a reported shooting at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam near Honolulu, Hawaii, on Wednesday.

'The incident occurred at approximately 2:30 p.m. "We will update when we have further information".

KGMB reported that there were multiple injuries. It's not clear whether that includes the shooter, active duty personnel or civilians.

The story added that, according to a Hawaii News Now report, a PA system was telling anyone on base to take cover. They say at least three victims were injured, including two critically.

Witnesses told Hawaii News Now that the shooting happened at Drydock 2.

Trump 'likes' idea of waiting to make a trade deal with China
On Monday, Trump said he would hit Brazil and Argentina with trade tariffs for "massive devaluation of their currencies". The law "doesn't make it better, but we'll see what happens", Trump said before departing for the London NATO summit.

Pearl Harbor is one of the Navy's major installations.

"I kind of recognize that as gunshots", the witness said.

The shipyard is across the harbor from the Pearl Harbor National Memorial, which on Saturday will mark the 78th anniversary of the attack by Japan that propelled the USA into the second world war.

KITV4 reports that a McDonalds near the base is also on lockdown. That attack occurred December 7, 1941.
