Common On How Mayor Pete Buttigieg Can Win Over Black Voters

Public opinion polls show Biden's one-time double-digit lead in Iowa has disappeared, and he is now fighting U.S. Senators Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, and a fast-rising Pete Buttigieg, the 37-year-old mayor of South Bend, Indiana.

"So we're on a No Malarkey tour, meaning we're telling the truth".

"Any time you serving the people you should learn about them", he said before entering his ride.

"There's a lot, of course, to admire in his thinking and his philosophy", Buttigieg said of the author of the Declaration of Independence and the nation's third president. An aide to Biden told ABC News that he's expected to spend upwards of 20 days in Iowa during the fourth fundraising quarter of 2019 - more than he spent in the state during the 2nd and 3rd quarters combined. The campaign has also invested heavily in advertising in Iowa. This is part of an eight-day swing through the Hawkeye State with the clock ticking toward the Iowa caucuses.

Mr Biden gave a further demonstration of his occasionally eccentric campaigning style when he playfully bit his wife Jill's finger as she waved her arm in front of him during her introductory remarks in Council Bluffs, Iowa, on Saturday.

Buttigieg has also said he supports what he calls "Medicare for all who want it" and also supports the public option that Biden wishes to add.

Buttigieg's campaign declined to comment, but pointed to statements from Buttigieg about "Medicare for all who want it" that he made before Biden announced he was running for president in April.

Former Iowa Governor Tom Vilsack explained why he believes Biden is the best person to become the next president.

"I think any presidential candidate's got to be truthful and really know the issues". Who do I want?"Biden's prediction that there is still time to win over the top spot requires one crucial ingredient: timing, as Paine Caufield said."The challenge in Iowa is kind of to get that momentum at the right time going into the caucuses", she said".
