49ers Drop a Close One to Ravens

49ers Drop a Close One to Ravens

Sunday's game between the San Francisco 49ers and Baltimore Ravens was hyped as a potential Super Bowl preview and it lived up to the billing. Both of these teams played really hard throughout.

On the flipside, while the 49er offense only eked out 17 points, QB Jimmy Garoppolo walked away with an efficient 15-21 on passing attempts for 165 yards and a touchdown. Emmanuel Sanders was the top receiver for San Francisco with four catches for 41 yards.

Mark Ingram II was quiet in this game for Baltimore. He finished with 146 yards rushing on 19 carries and a score.

After a hard-fought, defense-first heavyweight bout, the Niners fell short once again, watching a Justin Tucker field goal sail through the uprights as time expired.

Of course, this is nothing new for Tucker, who has made 22 of his 23 field-goal attempts this season and is one year removed from a 2018 campaign in which he went 35-for-39, en route to a First-Team All-Pro selection.

While that is more than several years ago, it still ranks in the bottom half of alliance members, at 20th out of 29 countries. The senior government official would not say whether the USA sent a letter ahead of this week's summit in London .

LeSean McCoy and Darwin Thompson also found the endzone in the second half as the Chiefs improved to 8-4.

Though the Niners now occupy the No. 1 overall seed, thanks to owning the tie-breaker (in-conference winning percentage) against the Saints, a loss in New Orleans, next Sunday, could send them straight to the Wild Card (5 or 6 seed). They're favored by just 2.5 points per BetMGM, Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins is notoriously spotty in night games (he's gone 7-13 in his career on that stage, and is 3-4 there since joining the Vikings) and laid an egg in this same venue in these same circumstances a year ago, losing 21-7 to the Seahawks on Monday Night Football in early December.

They will have big games moving forward.

We still need to see how Jackson fares when his running lanes are plugged up and he's forced to throw the ball 30-40 times from the pocket.

Nobody thought prior to the season that this one could have home field advantage implications taking part in the festivities, but alas, here we are with the 10-2 Ravens visiting the 9-3 Bills.
