Tatum, Brown lead Celtics' rally past Knicks

Jaylen Brown scored 28 points, including six straight for Boston in the final 2 1/2 minutes.

The Celtics responded with an 8-1 run and pulled within 73-71 on Walker's 3-pointer with 5:16 left. The Knicks were still up 93-87 in the fourth, but the Celtics had a 17-2 run to take the lead forever.

The Celtics didn't tie the game again until Semi Ojeleye hit a 3-pointer to even the score at 95-95 with 6:33 left in the game. Knox had a decent game with 11 points on 4 of 9 shots, but he still has a long way to go before he becomes an impact player. Last time Boston faced the lowly Knicks, their inside power between Mitchell Robinson, Bobby Portis and Julius Randle overwhelmed the Celtics' interior. In addition to a 14-point loss to the Philadelphia 76ers at the opening of the season, all other Boston losses this season have been by five points or less.

Knicks: Contemporary York has misplaced 5 straight to Boston. Sure, the difference is just one game, but when last season's roster featured a plethora of fringe National Basketball Association talents, it amplifies how poorly the first month-plus has been as December arrives.

They lost Sunday to the Celtics, 113-104, at Madison Square Garden, though that was not surprising. The Knicks are 0-8 against Atlantic Division opponents this season. Only Randle has started all 20 games for the Knicks, who have featured 11 different starters thus far. Meanwhile, Kevin Knox just received the first "DNP-CD" of his career, and Allonzo Trier barely played in November. Kemba Walker led Boston with 33 points, and Marcus Morris Sr. paced NY scoring 29 points. No one has recorded 10 dimes for the Knicks, with Barrett and Frank Ntilikina topping out at nine.

These players were expected to at least improve the Knicks from their miserable 17-65 season when development was prioritized, and players like Kristaps Porzingis, Tim Hardaway Jr. and Enes Kanter departed midseason.

Brown's bucket with 1:39 to play gave Boston its biggest advantage of the game, 110-99.

The score was tied 58-58 at halftime after the first two quarters round trip.

The Celtics lead the all-time series against the Knicks 296-182, including a 160-64 lead in NY.
