Lakers roll to 10th straight win

Los Angeles' 17-2 start matches the best in franchise history, but the Lakers realize true history isn't made in November or December, which looks much tougher on paper.

Los Angeles Lakers rub their eyes and do not leave their astonishment. They seem to have it all figured out as they are now riding a 10-game winning streak. But we just want to continue to get better and continue the process.

Orlando Magic accounted for 100 to 96 Golden State Warriors, with Evan Fournier equaling his 32-point record, the highest score of his career. If the season ended today, the Suns would be the Lakers' first round opponent in the playoffs. Both of the team's losses (to the Clippers and Raptors) came to teams over.500.

In Cleveland, Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 11 of his 33 points in the fourth quarter and Milwaukee held off the hosts for its 10th straight victory.

According to a report from Sports Illustrated's Chris Mannix, player agents around the league were upset that they could not sign with the Lakers because James didn't give his team's front office the green light. The Lakers' net rating of +8.6 is the second-best in the National Basketball Association behind the Milwaukee Bucks (+8.8).

The success of the Los Angeles Lakers is thanks largely in part to the stellar play of their top two All-Star players - Anthony Davis and LeBron James. Anthony Davis had 26 points, 13 rebounds and three blocks, including a huge dunk on Moritz Wagner.

That led Davis to describe the Lakers' defense as "terrible" but he joined LeBron James in adopting the mindset that the Lakers (17-3) would not allow themselves to drop two in a row for the rest of the season. James is No. 4 and Davis is No. 6 in the all-in-one impact stat. It was one of the easier starts to the season for any team in the league, allowing a new cast of teammates to gel and thrive under low-pressure circumstances. They also have nine road games in the month. If that remains the case after December, the Lakers' championship hype is going to get even louder.
