Actor Billy Dee Williams Comes Out As Gender Fluid

The new revelation closely matches an interview with Jonathan Kasdan, co-author of Solo: A Star Wars Story, in which Donald Glover plays the role of a young Lando Calrissian. The Star Wars entertainer as of late opened up about his sexual orientation at ease and using both he/him and she/her pronouns in an interview. "I say, quot; himself "and, quot; herself", because I also see myself both feminine and masculine", he said. I'm not afraid to point out that facet of myself. Off the screen, Williams said: "I never tried to be anything except myself". "I consider myself as a comparatively colourful character who doesn't take himself or herself too severely". Williams, 82, made the comments in an interview with Esquire.

Williams was happy to hear about Glover's acceptance, responding with, "Really?"

"Yes, he comes to everyone", Glover said about Calrissian during an interview with SiriusXM a year ago after "Solo" writers confirmed the pansexuality of the character, the Huffington Post said.

With franchises like Star Wars becoming increasingly diverse, it's refreshing to see those involved with the movies embracing and accepting a nonbinary view of what gender is. It ended up being a kind of breakthrough in terms of racial division, ' he tells me. He joined the franchise for its second installment, 1980's The Empire Strikes Back, and again in Return of the Jedi in 1983 before Donald Glover played a younger version of the galaxy's slickest smuggler in the spin-off, Solo: A Star Wars Story, released previous year.

Though The Rise of Skywalker hits theaters on December 20, one fan had the opportunity to view the movie before its official release.

"Really? That kid is brilliant - just look at those videos", Williams said, referencing Glover's song "This Is America". That's how I see Lando. And I deliberately presented something that nobody had experienced before: "a romantic brown-skinned boy".

Speaking to Esquire magazine, he said: "It's a conclusion - certainly it depends on how much money is generated".
