Johnny Depp to Produce 'Michael Jackson, as Told By His Glove' Musical

Titled "For the Love of a Glove: An Unauthorized Musical Fable About the Life of Michael Jackson, as told by his Glove" by playwright Julien Nitzberg, the show is scheduled to debut next year on January 25 in Los Angeles.

It takes events from Jackson's life and retells them from the perspective of Jackson's glove, "who happened to be a musically talented alien trying to take over humanity", according to the musical's website.

You'd think that after HBO blew the lid on Michael Jackson with their ambitious and revelatory documentary Leaving Neverland, we'd be over making more Jackon projects as we near the new decade.

"I'm going to go back to this. and do this as a musical", Nitzberg said.

Nitzberg told Page Six that the idea actually manifested 17 years ago while he was in meetings with "a major TV network" for a true Jackson biopic. "They laughed and said, can you do the normal version?"

Significant snowfall on the way, says Environment Canada
The city of Hamilton and Niagara along with several other parts of southeastern Ontario are under a freezing rain warning. Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement about a potential storm in the Greater Toronto Area Sunday.

According to Page Six, the musical "will look at the odd forces that shaped Michael and the scandals that tainted his reputation" and is told by a glove that speaks whole. Page Six adds that the show will also feature puppet versions of the Jackson 5, Corey Feldman, Donny Osmond and Jackson's beloved chimpanzee Bubbles.

The Glove told that An Unauthorized Musical Fable About the life of Michael Jackson, and described as a "look into the unusual forces that shaped Michael and the scandals that bedeviled his reputation". It was morally kind of repugnant to me to do ...

A disagreement arose between writer and network about how to handle the various accusations of child abuse that bedevilled Jackson's later life.

Depp's company, Infinitum Nihil, became involved in the project after having already worked on the development of a Tiny Tim biopic, which was never successful.
