Rep. Devin Nunes' full questioning of Volker and Morrison | Trump impeachment hearings

House Intelligence Committee Ranking Member Devin Nunes gives his opening statement ahead of former U.S. Ambassador to the European Union Gordon Sondland Capitol Hill testimony.

"As you know, the intelligence community has 17 different agencies".

I take it that Vindman said something to Mr. C. Mr. C. met with his old friend on Schiff's staff.

"It's our time", Nunes protested.

"I'm not aware of it", Sondland said, a response he used for almost every question Nunes posed. "If the witness has a good faith belief that this may reveal the identity of the whistleblower, that is not the goal that we are here for, and I want to advise the witness accordingly". "And if anybody reads the transcripts, I had two calls with the President of Ukraine - who, by the way, said there was no pressure whatsoever".

'In being publicly removed from the Oxford Union Society made me feel unwelcome in the Union, Oxford and even the country. In a tweet, OULC said: "OULC strongly condemns the appalling treatment of Ebenezer Azamati by the Oxford Union".

Nunes then noted that Vindman testified to Congress that he doesn't know the whistleblower's identity. The impeachment inquiry has focused on a July 25 phone call in which Trump asked the president of Ukraine to investigate former vice president and 2020 presidential candidate Joe Biden and his son, Hunter. Jordan, the ranking member of the House Oversight and Reform Committee, has been appointed as a temporary member of the House Intelligence Committee.

Nunes later in the hearing seemed to prove that Vindman had knowledge of who the whistleblower was after House Intelligence Committee Chairman cut into the questioning of the top Republican to say that Vindman did not have to answer a question because it could lead to who the whistleblower was.

However, Vindman continued to decline to provide the identity of the intelligence community member he had spoken to about Trump's call. Now, the one part I think is so important, he even told the Ukrainians, when they did learn, late August, that the aid had been held, he said, don't worry about it, we'll get this worked out.

"They react by leaking to the press and participating in the ongoing effort to sabotage his policies and, if possible, remove him from office", he added.
