USA businesswoman says ‘heartbroken’ by Britain’s Johnson

A USA businesswoman at the centre of a series of newspaper allegations over British Prime Minister Boris Johnson's conduct while he was mayor of London has said he has cast her aside like "some gremlin" since the furore surfaced, despite once sharing a "special relationship" with him.

Ms Arcuri refused to say on the programme if they had an affair and would not comment on the nature of their relationship but did say friends had pressured her to "admit the affair".

The Sunday Times reported in September that when Johnson was mayor he failed to declare close personal links to Jennifer Arcuri, who received thousands of pounds in public business funding and places on official trade trips.

Last week, Arcuri accused Johnson of treating her as "some one-night stand" ever since he assumed the office of the head of the United Kingdom government. What's it that you simply're on the lookout for that I ought to say?'

"It just doesn't make any sense, what's the point of you coming on and then not saying anything?"

She made her claim to Good Morning Britain while complaining that the prime minister was not speaking to her.

"When the story broke half the people that reached out told me to categorically deny, deny, deny", she said.

'And I'm terribly heartbroken by the way that you have cast me aside like I am some gremlin, ' she concluded.

Together, these employees would represent around a third of the 12,500 people WeWork employed at the end of June. As many as 6,000 employees could be laid off, a source told the Times .

The show alleges the pair were involved in an affair for more than four years.

The reports were followed by allegations that Johnson had engaged in misconduct by showing preferential treatment to Arcuri, including her in private trade talks and facilitating grants of up to £100,000 from state bodies.

'I've been nothing but loyal, faithful, supportive, and a true confidante of yours, ' she said on Exposure, addressing Johnson directly.

Last month, Arcuiri said it was "no-one's business" whether the pair were engaged in a sexual relationship, amid suggestions that the prime minister and the former model were having an affair.

She added: "When I expressed the interest to want to speak to him, I was told there are bigger things at stake and I was brushed off as if I was one of Kennedy's girlfriends showing up to his White House switchboard, you know, here to do my, you know, calling".

A Conservative Party spokeswoman said: "Any claims of impropriety in office are untrue and unfounded".

The entrepreneur revealed she also called the prime minister back in August.
