Trump suggests he may give written testimony in House probe

Trump's practice of tweeting about individuals who testify against him during the impeachment inquiry has been criticized as potential attempts to intimidate those witnesses.

"The facts are uncontested: that the President abused his power for his own personal, political benefit, at the expense of our national security interests", she wrote.

On Capitol Hill, former U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch testified Friday as part of the televised impeachment hearings into whether President Trump withheld military aid from Ukraine in order to pressure the Ukrainian president to investigate President Trump's political rival Joe Biden and his son.

Pelosi said that the "dangerous position only adds to the urgency of our action, because the President is jeopardizing the integrity of the 2020 elections".

Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., sent a letter on Monday to the ranking Republicans on the House Intelligence and Oversight Committees in which he detailed his account of White House meetings with Senate lawmakers about releasing foreign aid to Ukraine - and cast doubt on one of the inquiry's key witnesses just a day before the official's planned testimony.

"None of us comes to Congress to impeach a President, but rather to make progress for America's working families". "As such, we are custodians of the Constitution and, For The People, defenders of our democracy".

Spotting the tweets, House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff gave Yovanovitch the opportunity to respond to Trump's comments, with the former ambassador asserting: "I actually think that where I've served over the years, I and others have demonstrably made things better for the US and in the countries I have served in".

Yahoo Japan, Line to merge business

The NSC official also lodged concerns about Ambassador to the European Union Gordon Sondland.

Christine Blasey Ford has reportedly called on Americans to believe the account of former Ukraine Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch, who testified in President Donald Trump's impeachment inquiry last week.

Washington Post: "Democrats announce eight witnesses, including Vindman, Sondland and Volker, for next week's public impeachment hearings" - "Eight witnesses are expected to testify next week in the House impeachment inquiry, the panel leading the probe announced Tuesday, as President Trump accused Democrats of relying on "2nd and 3rd hand" testimony on the eve of the first public hearing".

"He was talking about the 2016 elections and an investigation into the Bidens and Burisma", Vindman testified, referring to the gas company in Ukraine; Hunter Biden served on its board. "I have never seen a direct relationship between investigations and security assistance", Prystaiko was quoted as saying.

On Thursday, Fiona Hill, the former National Security Council Russia adviser, is scheduled to appear.

Morrison alleged that Sondland told him "he was acting - he was discussing these matters with the president".
