Dolphins release Walton after battering arrest

The Miami Dolphins have released a statement announcing that they have cut running back Mark Walton from the team this morning.

The situation reportedly went down at 4:15 am Tuesday, and along with punching the woman, Walton allegedly pushed the woman into a wall.

The Dolphins had said they would welcome Walton back after his suspension, but clearly had taken a zero-tolerance policy toward the back.

"We will have no further comment at this time", Grier said. Take a look above.

Citing police, Slater said the woman is five weeks pregnant and Walton is the father.

The Dolphins have released troubled running back Mark Walton, saying he had been involved in an unspecified police matter.

Walton, 22, was released by the Bengals last season following three arrests and was in the midst of serving a four-game suspension for Miami as a result of his past problems.

Walton received six months of non-reporting probation as part of an August plea deal to resolve his three offseason court cases.

Walton was booked for aggravated battery against a pregnant person - a 2nd-degree felony which carries a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison.

Walton also pleaded guilty to resisting arrest and reckless driving and had a misdemeanor marijuana charge dismissed from that March arrest.

The Bengals had drafted him in the fourth round of the 2017 draft out of Miami. The Dolphins signed him in May.
