Twins prospect Ryan Costello found dead in New Zealand hotel room

"Costello will be huge, because he can play all over the field - first base, third base, as well as left field and right field", Manager Steve Mintz told Newshub New Zealand at the time.

Minnesota Twins prospect Ryan Costello was found dead in his hotel room in New Zealand on Monday, days after joining the Auckland Tuatara in the Australian Baseball League. According to the team's website, the initial indications are the 23-year-old died of natural causes.

"We were very sad to learn the news about the passing of former Miracle infielder Ryan Costello this morning", the Fort Myers organization said in a tweet.

The Tuatara noted that support is being offered to Costello's teammates, who are "naturally devastated" by the news. Concerns were raised when Costello failed to report for practice Monday morning, days ahead of the Tuatara's opening game of the 2019-20 ABL season. The entire Twins organization sends our most honest condolences to Ryan's family, friends, coaches, and teammates.

India's Mohammed Shami up to No 7 in ICC Test bowling rankings
The forthcoming tour to New Zealand would be a great indicator of India's real challenge in the Test championship. The points range from 60 points for each match of a two-Test series to 24 for each match of a five-Test series.

Costello initially sign with the Seattle Mariners in June 2017 after playing at Central Connecticut State.

The Mariners traded Costello and Chase De Jong to the Twins in July 2018 in exchange for pitcher Zach Duke and cash. This year, he slashed.223/.343/.412 with 15 home runs and 46 RBIs across 108 games between High-A and Double-A ball.

That September, he hit a three-run homer to help Class A Fort Myers win the 2018 Florida State League title with an 8-5 victory over Daytona. "The first thing we do when I go home is go fishing. I live about five minutes from a river, the Connecticut River, so we go fishing on the river a lot".

The Tuatara face the Perth Heat Wednesday at North Harbour Stadium in Aukland.
