The shooting took place just before 8 p.m. local time.

Fresno police said that 10 people were shot on Sunday night in the backyard of a house on the 5300 block of East Lamona Avenue near Caesar Avenue, reports The Fresno Bee.

Five additional victims were taken to CRMC with non-life threatening gunshot wounds, Reid said.

A suspect sneaked into the backyard of the home and opened fire on those who had gathered there, according to Fresno Police Lt. Bill Dooley.

'Everyone was watching football this evening when unknown suspects approached the residence, snuck into the backyard and opened fire'. A fourth victim died at the hospital. Police are knocking on doors in the neighborhood, looking for surveillance cameras and witnesses that might help detectives piece together what happened, Dooley said. One man was transported to Community Regional Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries.
