The latter has been starring for Red Bull Salzburg so far this season while the former has had a hard start to the campaign with Borussia Dortmund, but was brilliant last term.

In 12 league games this term, Haaland has bagged himself a staggering 15 goals and also provided two assists.

Smalling has impressed since moving to Italy in the summer prompting speculation that Roma want to keep the 29-year-old beyond the end of the season but a formal offer has not yet been submitted.

The young Norwegian has already netted as many as 26 goals in 18 matches in the ongoing season- with seven of them coming in four UEFA Champions League appearances and a couple of them coming in OFB Cup matches.

After such a rampant start to the campaign, it shouldn't be too much of a surprise to hear some of Europe's top clubs are reportedly interested in Haaland.
