Flames' T.J. Brodie taken to hospital after collapsing during practice

A frightening moment on the ice brought the Flames practice to a halt Thursday afternoon at the Scotiabank Saddledome and saw defenceman TJ Brodie carried off on a stretcher. The team reported at night that after testing he was discharged and is doing well while recovering at home.

Multiple reports noted that Brodie was standing alone when he fell to the ice and apparently had a seizure.

"TJ Brodie experienced an episode on ice at practice today", Flames general manager Brad Treliving said in a statement.
