Rescue puppy has tail growing out of his forehead

And, appropriately, his name is Narwhal.

Steffen said the plan is to keep Narwhal at the rescue mission for now so they can be sure the puppy's second tail - the one that's on its forehead, of course - doesn't grow too big for its face and cause problems.

On Tuesday, Narwhal was brought into Mac's Mission - a Jackson, Mo., animal rescue specializing in special needs dogs - and his pictures have gone viral, People Magazine reported.

Vets took X-ray scans which showed the tail isn't connected to anything. Staff named him "Narwhal the Little Magical Furry Unicorn" and declared him the "COOLEST PUPPY EVER!"

They also confirmed "there is no real reason at this time for the unicorn tail to be removed" and that other than "some usual puppy worms", which he was treated for, Narwhal seems completely healthy.

Morning Roundup: Verlander, deGrom win Cy Young Awards
Led the NL in strikeouts and WAR while finishing second in ERA and WHIP and third in innings pitched. Verlander continued a marvelous second act to his career since a 2017 trade from Detroit to Houston.

It is believed he's a Dachshund-terrier mix with perhaps some golden retriever in him and is about 10 weeks old.

Mac's Mission officials say that the young one has generated a lot of interest online with many social media users asking to be with him.

Meet the adorable Narwhal - with two tails.

"Everyone is super interested in him", a Mac's Mission representative told CNN.
