Mother of missing Florida girl charged; human remains found

Search teams uncovered human remains in a wooded area in Alabama on Tuesday during the search for missing Taylor Rose Williams, law enforcement confirmed.

"We are nowhere near done in this investigation", Williams said.

Investigators said no one else is now in custody in relation to Taylor's disappearance. Authorities did not identify whose remains they found; forensic tests are being done.

Brianna Williams has been charged with felony child neglect and making false statements to police, Jacksonville Sheriff Mike Williams said Tuesday.

She was admitted to a hospital after what appears to be an overdose.

Earlier Tuesday, police announced the discovery of human remains in a wooded area of Marengo County, Alabama, located about 100 miles west of Montgomery.

Taylor Rose Williams was reported missing from her Jacksonville, Florida, home Wednesday, Nov. 6.

JSO believes Brianna Williams drove her black 2017 Honda Accord to Alabama within the last two weeks and is asking anyone who saw her with Taylor recently to call investigators at 904-630-0500.

Authorities had announced Monday that the search for Taylor, a resident of Jacksonville, Florida, was expanding to Alabama.

That sparked an AMBER Alert and a massive search.

Nicole said Williams' house was messy and that she was behaving strangely.

Brianna Williams was the last person to see the little girl, the sheriff said. "We still need her cooperation in our efforts", he said.

The search for the child has also expanded from the Jacksonville area to Demopolis, Alabama and its surroundings, according to NBC News.

Family members in Alabama said he hasn't seen his daughter in about two years since Williams moved from that state to Jacksonville.

Brianna Williams, a petty officer first class at the Tactical Operations Center at Naval Air Station Jacksonville, has remained on the military base for the duration of the investigation, according to NBC News.
