Fourth Illinois resident dies after lung injury associated with vaping

"At this time, a total of 179 people in IL, ranging in age from 13 to 75 years old ... have experienced lung injuries after using e-cigarettes or vaping". IDPH continues to work with local health departments to investigate another 41 possible cases in IL.

Missouri health officials say that a woman in her mid-50s died this week, with her death being associated with the use of e-cigarettes or vaping products.

The CDC says people should consider refraining from vaping, especially with products including THC.

As of Nov 13, 42 deaths have been confirmed in 24 states and the District of Columbia, the agency said. These lung illnesses are likely associated with a chemical exposure from vaping.

The CDC has also developed a webpage that has resources for the public, healthcare providers and health departments.

So far in IN there have been 57 probable cases of vaping-related lung illness and 55 confirmed cases.
