Fans React to Keanu Reeves and SpongeBob Together in New Movie Trailer

Everyone knows that. Not only has our man Keanu Reeves been crushing it in insanely fun action movies like the John Wick series, and meme-filled comedic turns in the likes of Netflix's Always Be My Maybe , but now he's inexplicably sharing the screen with.SpongeBob Squarepants.

About halfway through the trailer for the new SpongeBob Squarepants movie, appropriately titled The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie: Sponge on the Run, A familiar face shows up.

At one point, Patrick instructs SpongeBob to put all their money "on L" - after looking at the number 7 upside down. Yes, as you surely woke up and expected, Keanu Reeves is playing a Sage, his bearded face projected onto an animated tumbleweed. The show premiered on Nickelodeon on May 1, 1999. Of course, Reeves is inspiring memes and reactions that range from flames to eye pops, with some people saying that his career has officially peaked with this cameo.

Written and directed by Tim Hill, the voice cast includes Tom Kenny, Awkwafina, Clancy Brown, Rodger Bumpass, Bill Fagerbakke, Carolyn Lawrence, Douglas Lawrence and Reggie Watts.
