Eddie Murphy is on board for 'Beverly Hills Cop 4'

Murphy, meanwhile, has been getting some of his best reviews in decades for his performance in the Netflix film "Dolemite Is My Name".

There have been no details released about plot, or potential release dates for the film, at this time.

This arrangement allows Murphy and producer Jerry Bruckheimer to return to the franchise, 25 years after the release of Beverly Hills Cop III in 1994.

All three Beverly Hills Cop films are now available to rent on Amazon.

The original Beverly Hills Cop saw maverick Detroit detective Foley travel to Los Angeles to investigate a friend's murder.

Axel Foley is making a return.

Eddie Murphy speaks to reporters as he arrives for the Mark Twain prize for Humor honoring Murphy at the Kennedy Center in Washington October 18, 2015.

The screen offers a resolution of 2142 x 876 pixels and is made of plastic, as is the case with many other foldable smartphones. He says that layer will help prevent particles like sand from going into the device's electronics and breaking the display.

This will be the fourth Beverly Hills Cop movie; the first was the third-biggest movie of 1984 behind just Ghostbusters and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. It's also giving Murphy renewed attention. The movie was a smash hit, main to a different hit in 1987's Beverly Hills Cop II, directed by Tony Scott. Judge Reinhold also starred in all three films, but the Deadline report doesn't say if he'll be back for fourths.

Murphy has made clear in the past that he would only return to the film series if the script was on point.

This isn't the first time Paramount has attempted to bring Beverly Hills Cop back to screens.

Paramount, in turn has Murphy starring in another sequel of one of his beloved characters, Prince Akeem in Coming To America.

Paramount Pictures will still be producing Murphy's other revival feature, "Coming 2 America", to be helmed by "Dolemite Is My Name" director Craig Brewer.

But Beverly Hills Cop 4 has been in development for so long it's highly probable they have the basic story and plotline hashed out for Axel Foley and whoever he's teaming up with this time.
