The Theme Of The 2020 Met Gala Has Been Revealed

The theme of the Met Gala and the exhibit at the museum in New York City will be "About Time: Fashion and Duration", and following the event, the exhibit will be open to the public from May 7 to September 7, 2020.

"Employing Henri Bergson's concept of la durée (duration), it will explore how clothes generate temporal associations that conflate past, present, and future", according to the Met's announcement.

The gala on May 4, 2020, will mark the opening of the Met's spring exhibition of the same name, the Met said in a statement.

If you missed it, Anna Wintour recently revealed the one person she would not ask back to fashion's biggest night.

Ederson out of Liverpool vs Manchester City with injury
Ederson was taken off at half-time of Manchester City's chaotic 1-1 draw against Atalanta in the Champions League on Wednesday. Klopp remains unbeaten, only dropping points in the 1-1 draw with Manchester United last month.

Meryl Streep has been named as a co-chair of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute. "As such, the show will present a nuanced continuum of fashion over the Museum's 150-year history".

With fashion aficionados like Billy Porter, Lady Gaga and Zendaya (who rocked a Cinderella ensemble for this year's Camp theme), next year's event will likely make for some interesting grayscale looks as the exhibition attempts to detail the "linear chronology of fashion" and focus on "the fast, fleeting rhythm of fashion".

The exhibition will highlight a variety of "folds in time" and showcase the juxtapositions between designers across various eras with 160 women's fashion pieces from the last century-and-a-half. Writer Virginia Woolf will serve as the exhibition's "ghost narrator", while author Michael Cunningham - whose novel The Hours was based on Woolf's Mrs Dalloway - will write a new short story for the exhibition's catalogue.

Kim Kardashian, Katie Holmes and Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas were among the stars to attend the 2019 Met Gala in May.
