'E.T.' star Henry Thomas under DUI arrest in Oregon

Henry Thomas was arrested in Tualatin, Oregon, after police officers responded to reports of a vehicle that was stopped in an intersection about 8:30 p.m. Monday, KEZI reported.

TMZ reports that the star of Netflix's popular adaptation of Shirley Jackson's spooky novel was arrested in OR on Monday for DUI.

Actor Henry Thomas, known for his role as 10-year-old Elliott in "E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial", was arrested for DUI in Oregon. While there was no sign of alcohol in his auto, police took him to Washington County Jail on suspicion of D.U.I. after he exhibited other signs of drinking, TMZ reports.

He was booked for misdemeanor driving under the influence of intoxicants.

Thomas famously played "Elliott" in Steven Spielberg's massively popular 1982 movie E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial.

England call up Oxlade-Chamberlain, Hudson-Odoi and Stones for qualifiers
England manager Southgate insists Kyle Walker's worldwide career is not over despite omitting him for a third-successive squad. But Mason Mount is now a doubt after suffering an ankle injury in Chelsea's 4-4 Champions League draw with Ajax on Tuesday.

The movie received universal praise and surpassed "Star Wars" as the highest grossing film of all time.

Even though the child star blew up to fame after Steven Spielberg's sci-fi classic, Thomas went on to have a pretty successful career in TV and film.

CNN has reached out to Thomas and his reps for comment. The details they have released made it seem like alcohol was the source of Thomas' intoxication.

In more moderen years, he's been seen as Younger Hugh Crain in Netflix's acclaimed hit The Haunting Of Hill Home, which landed him a Saturn Award for Finest Actor in Streaming Presentation.
