Elon Musk announce launch date of Tesla Cybertruck

In a follow-up post, he said the date was "strangely familiar" and shared a link to the opening credits and scene of the 1982 film "Blade Runner", which was set in November 2019. And the much awaited event will be held in a fortnight, early Thursday (Australian time). Musk has also claimed the vehicle will seat six passengers, offer up to 400 to 500 miles of range, and be able to tow up to 300,000 pounds.

A Wednesday tweet from Elon Musk revealed that Tesla plans to unveil its electric truck later this month. So maybe it is not such a coincidence.

If you're wondering what "a really futuristic-like cyberpunk, Blade Runner pickup truck" actually looks like, concrete design details have been scant and teaser pics rather cryptic. This will be heart-stopping.

A CGI James Dean is cast in new film, sparking an outcry
James Dean had just three credited movie roles, East Of Eden , Rebel Without A Cause and Giant , now considered classics. Almost seven decades after his death, Hollywood icon James Dean will return to the big screen for a new movie role.

In terms of functionality and performance, Tesla strives to make the new pickup truck to be a better truck than Ford F-150 and a better sports vehicle than the standard Porsche 911, Musk said earlier this year.

Carmakers including Ford Motor Co F.N and General Motors Co GM.N are racing to design radical new takes on their most profitable pickup truck models, replacing petroleum-fueled engines with batteries in a bid to outflank Tesla's plan to eclipse their brands.

The Tesla founder also said that the truck would have room for five passengers plus the driver. According to The Verge, the truck will seat six, offer between 400 to 500 miles of range and start at around $50,000.
