Trump changes residence from NY to Florida; Cuomo says ‘Good riddance’

Trump this week changed his primary residence from NY to Florida.

The form, known as a "declaration of domicile", lists 1100 South Ocean the president's new home - Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort, which he sometimes calls his "Winter White House" and where he has spent almost 100 days since taking office, according to one tally.

Since taking office, New York's attorney general has announced investigations into the Trump Organization, and the state Legislature has moved to obtain his tax returns, efforts that likely will not be affected by his planned move to Florida.

"I formerly resided at 721 Fifth Avenue", the document says, referring to Trump Tower, which has been his primary residence since he moved into the skyscraper off 57th Street in midtown Manhattan in 1983. In a report published by NBC, since his inauguration, Trump has spent 99 days at Mar-a-Lago.

However, New York hasn't always adored Trump back: Demonstrations out Trump Tower are all common, and Trump has butted heads with town and state multiple occasions.

"Good riddance", Cuomo tweeted. "He's all yours, Florida". In New York, meanwhile, the state's top tax rate is almost 9 percent and the city's top rate is almost 4 percent.

"It's 100 percent he'll get audited", predicted Barry Horowitz, a tax accountant who has handled many change-of-residency cases.

Signs that central banks will extend their shift to more accommodative policy also have helped buoy markets throughout the year. Canadian energy stocks, which represent a big portion of the market, have lagged and weighed down the performance of the TSX.

"I would never say anything negative about Donald Trump because he was there when other people weren't", said White, who spoke at the 2016 Republican National Convention in support of Trump's candidacy. But Trump knows very well what it's like to be an outsider: He was mocked and rejected for decades by NY social elites when he tried to join their clubs with his nouveau riche ways. "New York is a very expensive place to live, but many bad things are happening in NY, and I just put out a statement on NY".

The White House has not commented on the president's reasons for changing his permanent address but the New York Times quoted a person close to the president as saying that the reasons were mainly for tax purposes. When the first lady filed her own form, someone scratched out the word "Donald" and scribbled in "Melania".

Trump was born, raised, built his businesses and launched his political campaign in NY, and says he "hated" to have to make the decision to leave, but that "few have been treated worse" by the city and state elected officials.

The move comes after Florida had finally emerged from our status as the most politically corrupt state in the nation. And he has often mentioned Mar-a-Lago when promoting his ties to the state.

Trump called Cuomo "brother of Fredo" - a reference to his brother, Chris, who is an anchor at CNN - the president's most despised news network.

The 2018 data for NY has a margin of error of plus or minus 7,071. "Cuomo has weaponized the prosecutors to total his dirty work (and to prefer him out of jams), a cause some don't are seeking to be in Recent York, and one other cause they're leaving", he wrote within the first of a series of Twitter posts. He is expected to depart on Sunday, and perhaps add to the traffic congestion that's already anticipated for the New York City Marathon. He has also used his Florida residence to host global leaders, including Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Still, Manhattan has been like Oz to him.
