Possible Suspect in Shooting Near California School Caught

The person who was shot, a 17-year old, is in stable condition, Santa Rosa Police Capt. John Cregan said.

BRICK-The Brick township Police Department has said at least one person has been shot near Brick Memorial High School.

Students from Brick Memorial High School were transported to Veteran's Memorial Middle School and were released to their parents.

The investigation that was initiated immediately after the shooting revealed that the victim was injured approximately one quarter mile from the school and ran into the school gym.

"What we can say is that it appeared to be an isolated incident between two students", Cregan said.

The shooter was "behaving normally", following lockdown protocol by going to the nearest classroom after the shooting.

It is part of a sprawling complex that also includes Santa Rosa High School, Santa Rosa Junior College, school district offices and athletic fields. A suspect and his alleged "accomplice" have been arrested, reports say.

Santa Rosa Police Captain John Cregan said Tuesday that at least one shot was sacked during an "altercation" near the intersection of Ridgway Avenue and Morgan Street, outside of Ridgway High School, at around 8:56 a.m.

Things have become a little stale at Spurs but by no means has Mauricio Pochettino's managerial ability diminished. As runners-up in the Champions League last term, the results can't be deemed anything less than disappointing.

TV footage from a helicopter showed a boy or man being led away in handcuffs while students were taken out of a building and searched.

Police tweeted that they're looking for the gunman's weapon.

"You see the verbal exchange start, and then the suspect produces the handgun and fires multiple rounds", Cregan said. After the shooting, the suspect hid the handgun used in the attack in a backpack and put it in a auto that soon left the area, the captain said. The incident triggered an hours-long lockdown of the complex consisting of three schools in Santa Rosa.

Authorities initially said they were launching a search for "the lone shooter" and later said a possible suspect was detained.

Santa Rosa is about 50 miles (80 km) north of San Francisco.

Officials have locked down the school, as well as nearby Santa Rosa High School and the Santa Rosa Junior College.

School district officials referred questions to police.
