Bogdan Bogdanovic weighing Kings' max contract offer

Sacramento Kings guard Bogdan Bogdanovic has said he does not want to "rush" signing a maximum contract extension worth $51.4m (£40.2m) over four years.

NEGOTIATIONS continue between Buddy Hield and the Sacramento Kings with just days remaining for the parties to reach an agreement on a contract extension. I want to be here. Several members of the 2016 draft class have already received lucrative new deals: Philadelphia's Ben Simmons and Denver's Jamal Murray got full five-year, $170 million maximum contracts; Malcolm Brogdon landed a four-year, $85 million contract in the sign-and-trade that sent him to in; and Caris LeVert agreed to a three-year, $52.5 million extension to stay in Brooklyn. The only contract they have that is guaranteed beyond 2021 is forward Harrison Barnes, who the team inked to a new four-year, $85 million declining value deal in July. "If it don't get done, me and my team will look somewhere else, probably look for another home".

Hield is set to enter the final year of his rookie contract (four-year, $15.9-million) and is eligible for a rookie scale contract extension (up to $158.1 million over five years). But if they don't want me here, they don't feel like I'm part of the core - I like respect and loyalty and I feel like I'm part of the group that's been getting the team back where it needs to be.

On the other hand, the Financial Times wrote the listing will be delayed by "weeks". The formal announcement had been envisaged as soon as October 20.

If a deal doesn't get done by the deadline, Hield would become a restricted free agent this summer.

Hield averaged a team-high 20.7 points, plus 5.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 2018-2019. Technically, the Kings could still sign Hield then, but they would be competing with offers from other teams as well.

"I know what I'm worth", Hield said to the Sacramento Bee. Sabonis, the 23-year-old who arrived with Victor Oladipo in late June 2017 in the Paul George trade with Oklahoma City, is clearly on the market.
