Neil Patrick Harris To Join Cast Of The Matrix 4

Neil Patrick Harris To Join Cast Of The Matrix 4

Neil Patrick Harris is the latest actor to be cast in Matrix 4, according to Variety on Tuesday.

Wachowski is producing the film together with Grant Hill. He is the fourth actor to signed on to the movie, following behind Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss, who will obviously be reprising Neo and Trinity, respectively, and Aquaman star Yayha Abdul-Mateen II, whose role is also being kept secret.

In one of the most surprising casting choices since Robert Pattinson was chosen to be the new Batman, it looks Neil Patrick Harris is set to become part of the Matrix franchise.

Plot details are now being kept under wraps for the sequel, which jumps off of the premise that the reality in which all humans live is actually a computer simulation controlled by advanced machines harvesting energy from enslaved humans. However, rumors have been making the rounds that Abdul-Mateen III would play the son of Morpheus or a younger version of him.

Aleksandar Hemon and David Mitchell co-wrote the script with Wachowski. Though Lana worked on the original series with her sister Lilly, it appears that, at least for now, Lilly will not be working on the sequel. Harris was most recently seen in the Netflix series "A Series of Unfortunate Events".

Warner Bros. chairman Toby Emmerich told The Hollywood Reporter: "We could not be more excited to be re-entering The Matrix with Lana". The Matrix Revolutions was also the first film ever to release simultaneously in every major country at the same hour around the world.

Harris' previous feature roles include The Smurfs, The Muppets, Gone Girl and Downsizing.
