The fastest charging smartphone in the world was just unveiled

As is Oppo's 65W fast charging technology for smartphones, which isn't something you see on other devices - that's the SuperVOOC charging tech that we've discussed before, and which received a massive upgrade.

Under the hood, the Reno2 Z is powered by a MediaTek P90 processor, 8GB of RAM, a 4000mAh battery, 256GB of storage and - of course, the latest version of Color OS - Oppo's iPhone-inspired Android skin - which is based on Android Pie.

The smartphone features a 6.5-inch FHD+ AMOLED display, it also gives the option to increase the screen refresh rate to 90Hz, like the OnePlus 7 Pro and 7T smartphones. OPPO K5 will be the first smartphone to have VOOC 4.0 fast charging technology, which can charge the phone in just 73 minutes. The recent promotions for the Reno 2 boast specifications like the multifunction quad camera, which will definitely empower creativity and allow consumers to experience a whole new digitally superior world in the palm of their hands.

The small waterdrop notch hides the 16MP selfie camera, and there is an under-display fingerprint scanner and dual firing speakers.

The chipset is the same Snapdragon 730G with the same RAM and storage options including 6GB/8GB then 128/256GB storage.

The Oppo Reno Ace will be available in Psychedelic Purple and Starry Blue. With both OPPO and Realme being owed by the same company I would expect this is exactly the same display on the X2 Pro.

But the Reno Ace has a far more capacious, 4,000mAh battery.

Also present is the ever-popular Sony 48-megapixel IMX586 sensor which is supported by 13-megapixel 5x hybrid zoom telephoto lens, an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera, and a 2-megapixel monochrome sensor.

The OPPO Reno Ace will initially be launching in China later this month, starting at 2,999 yuan ($421) for models with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. For 3,799 yuan (~$530 USD) you get 12GB RAM and 256GB storage.

Oppo K5 is now available to order in China will go on sale on October 17.
