El Camino star Robert Forster dead at 78 after battle with cancer

Actor Robert Forster, who was nominated for an Academy Award for his work in Quentin Tarantino's Jackie Brown, has died at the age of 78. Variety earlier Friday reported news of Forster's death and said he died in Los Angeles of brain cancer.

He also starred in the television series Twin Peaks and Breaking Bad reports BBC News. He recently featured in an action crime drama film which hit screens in the United States on Friday (12th October).

Forster's first substantial role in Hollywood was in 1967's Reflections in the Golden Eye, where he held his own opposite co-stars Elizabeth Taylor and Marlon Brando. Social media is flooded with messages for the veteran actor. I met him on the movie Alligator (pic) 40 years ago, and then again on BB.

Forster's final film role ironically premiered today on Netflix, the Breaking Bad sequel film El Camino, reprising his role as Ed from the TV series.

"You learn to take whatever jobs there are and make the best you can out of whatever you've got".

He is survived by his children: Bobby, Elizabeth, Kate and Maeghen; his grandchildren: Tess, Liam, Jack and Olivia; and long time partner, Denise Grayson.
