Tennessee Titans release kicker Cairo Santos

Santos is ideal on extra points so far this season, but the Brazilian has gone a paltry 4-for-9 in field-goal attempts.

In Sunday's Week 5 loss to the Bills, Santos went 0-for-4 on field goal attempts, including two misses from inside 36 yards. He has converted 108 out of 134 field goals and 161 out of 167 extra point attempts in his National Football League career.

The Bills blocked a 33-yarder in the fourth quarter and Santos later botched a 53-yard field goal as the Titans fell to a 2-3 record this season.

Santos' expected replacement is no stranger to kicking anguish.

Carrie Lam Teases Chinese Takeover of Hong Kong Protests
Hong Kong was virtually locked down over the three-day holiday weekend, with the majority of subway stops closed. He remarked on the "great people over there" and said protesters had been "flying the American flag".

"It was a very painful, extremely disappointing day", Santos said after the game, per the Titans' official website.

The Titans will reportedly bring in former Chicago Bears kicker Cody Parkey as Santos' replacement, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. "I feel sorry for my teammates, my coaches and they deserve to win and I have just got to do a better job".

Parkey worked out for the Jets back in August and the Titans in September.

Parkey, 27, earned Pro Bowl honors as a rookie with the Eagles in 2014. Succop was placed on injured reserve due to a knee injury, and is not eligible to return until after Week 8. The second-year veteran from San Jose State played in the season's first four games but was inactive Sunday.
