Police arrest climate action protesters blocking Bloor Viaduct

The Extinction Rebellion protest was part of a global wave of calls for action on climate change, and in Wellington included blocking entrances to the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment, and entering a branch of the ANZ bank.

Julie Hotchkiss, a senior NHS worker from Appley Bridge, was taken into custody by police in Westminster on Tuesday morning.

In Berlin, 300 people blocked Potsdamer Platz, placing couches, tables, chairs and flowerpots on the road.
