WashPost: House Dems Discuss Remote Location for Whistleblower Testimony

President Trump, under mounting pressure as House Democrats pursue an impeachment inquiry against him, suggested that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., could be guilty of treason and thus should be impeached "immediately". Members may also be censured.

During that conversation, Trump asked Zelensky whether officials could look into why a Ukranian prosecutor was sacked while they were investigating an energy company upon which Joe Biden's son, Hunter, served as a board member.

In a summary of the phone call between the two leaders released by the White House, Trump says to Zelenskiy: "There's a lot of talk about Biden's son, that Biden stopped the prosecution and a lot of people want to find out about that so whatever you can do with the Attorney General would be great".

Trump has criticized Schiff for his characterization of a July phone call the president had with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskiy, which prompted Democrats to launch an impeachment inquiry. Schiff has defended his comments amid backlash from the president and Republicans in Congress, stating that it was "meant to be at least part in parody".

"This makes Nervous Nancy every bit as guilty as Liddle' Adam Schiff for Excessive Crimes and Misdemeanors, and even Treason", he continued.

It was also reported last week that the whistleblower at the center of a House impeachment inquiry into Trump contacted Schiff's committee before filing a complaint.

News of a second whistleblower first came to light on Friday in a New York Times report. Trump removed Yovanovitch from her position as Ambassador to Ukraine after months of lobbying from Rudy Giuliani, who said she was undermining efforts to persuade the Ukrainian government to investigate Biden.

The Columbus Dispatch reports three other Republican senators, Mitt Romney of Utah, Ben Sasse of Nevada and Susan Collins of ME have criticized the president's comments about China, which further fueled an impeachment inquiry in the U.S. House.

Democrats have also contemplated keeping the whistleblower hidden behind a partition if he or she testifies in person, according to the Post.

House Democrats are anxious that President Donald Trump's congressional allies will leak the identity of the anonymous whistleblower behind the Ukraine complaint and are considering taking dramatic steps to protect that person, The Washington Post reported Monday.
