Tom Holland Apparently Saved the Marvel/Sony Deal

In true superhero fashion, Spider-Man actor Tom Holland reportedly swooped in at the eleventh hour and helped secure Spidey's future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The 23-year-old actor noted that Marvel helped make his dreams come true, and that he had "five unbelievable years" working under the House of Heroes, but knew that the future of Spider-Man would be "equally as awesome and amazing" and that Sony would "find new ways to make it even cooler".

The unnamed source says Holland's outreach began at Disney's D23 expo, just days after the split between Sony and Disney was made public.

In August, after Sony declined to agree on the new terms, Disney removed MCU head Feige and Marvel as producers of the future projects. The final agreement includes Disney sharing in both production costs and profits.

A deal used to be announced in late September that will perceive Wonder boss Kevin Feige find one further Spider-Man film for Sony (with Disney taking 25% of the earnings and striking up 25% of the associated price range), and also allow Spidey to characteristic in a 2nd future Wonder film. The previous two Spider-Man MCU films made billions, so we see Disney wanted their piece of the pie, which is only right when you think about it. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actor was able to convince honchos at Disney and Sony pictures to work things out after "multiple appeals".

Holland's third Spider-Man film opens in theaters on July 16, 2021. Especially since Spider-Man: Far From Home ends on a pretty big cliffhanger that can now be resolved.

"Spider-Man is a powerful icon and hero whose story crosses all ages and audiences around the globe".

If you didn't know, Holland is also penciled in to play the lead role in Sony's upcoming Uncharted movie, giving him some additional pushing power towards Sony.
