War box office collection Day 1: Hrithik-Tiger film creates new record

Bollywood film War has created history on its opening day. This box office figure is more than the opening collections of Avengers: Endgame, which collected Rs. 51.10 crore on Day 1. The film has emerged as the highest opening day earner ever in the history of Hindi cinema, beating the record of YRF's own action adventure Thugs of Hindostan that collected Rs. 48.27 crore on Diwali past year. "War" beats Tiger Shroff's highest opening day film "Baaghi 2" which released a year ago and collected a total of Rs 25 crore on its first day. Earlier, this record was held by Aamir Khan's Thugs of Hindostan with Rs 52 crore in the domestic box office market. The Marvel Studios movie, released in April this year, collected Rs 53.10 crore on its opening day. The film which was also directed by Siddharth Anand and starred Katrina Kaif as the female lead had collected Rs 24.40 crore on its first day. The Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff starrer not only became the highest-grossing movie of all-time, it also beat the Avengers: Endgame.

Interestingly, both "War" and "Thugs Of Hindostan" are bankrolled by Aditya Chopra's Yash Raj Films.
