Robert De Niro's Ex-Assistant Claims Harassment, Discrimination in Lawsuit

"De Niro insisted on paying Ms. Robinson less than a male whose job required no greater skill, effort, or responsibility than Ms. Robinson's position", the suit reads. In August, De Niro's company, Canal Productions, sued Robinson for $6 million, saying that she used a company credit card to charge hundreds of thousands of dollars in personal expenses and spent a lot of time bingeing Netflix through the Canal account, viewing 55 episodes of "Friends" over four days.

"De Niro would unleash tirades against Ms. Robinson _ often while he was intoxicated _ in which he denigrated, berated, bullied, and hurled expletives at her", the lawsuit said.

Robinson countered in her lawsuit that the lawsuit against her was retaliatory because it was filed after she had resigned and informed De Niro's lawyer that she was considering a lawsuit to address De Niro's gender discrimination and wage violations.

According to a new lawsuit, obtained by TMZ, Graham Chase Robinson claims she was hired by the actor in 2008 as his executive assistant.

In her filing, Robinson claims that weeks before De Niro sued her, she had communicated through her lawyer that she had "claims of sex discrimination, sexual stereotyping, hostile work environment, and retaliation under, inter alia, the New York Human Rights Law, the New York Labor Law, and the Fair Labor Standards Act" and "made clear that she was willing to pursue these claims through litigation".

A spokesperson for De Niro did not immediately respond to a request for comment. She claims De Niro called her a "bitch" and a "brat" while calling another woman a "cunt".

"De Niro suggested that Ms. Robinson could get pregnant using sperm from her (married) male co-worker", the suit adds. She is seeking $12 million in damages, including back pay, front pay, compensatory damages, liquidated damages, and punitive damages.

"De Niro took a page out of the Bill O'Reilly playbook". The complaint also accuses De Niro and Canal Productions of retaliating against Ms. Robinson after she objected to the harassment and other unlawful practices. "Her reputation and her career have been destroyed".

"The results have been devasting to Ms. Robinson".

Robinson also claims that the 76-year-old actor would urinate during telephone calls with her and meet her wearing only his pajamas or a bathrobe. How dare you! You're about to be fired.
