Brexit: Corbyn says 'misunderstanding' over backstop comments

Jo Swinson says she is ready to defeat "dictator" Boris Johnson and "Brexit by nature" Jeremy Corbyn at the next general election.

Though the Liberal Democrats and Labour are swinging further towards leftist anti-Brexit extremism, their differing trajectories - the former stating it seeks to stop Brexit outright, the latter seeking to stay in the European Union by forcing Britons to vote again until they chose either Remain or nearly-Remain - has resulted in a split in the Remainer movement, with each party attempting to outdo the other in terms of which is the most "democratic" and the most Europhile.

However, Labour remains concerned that Johnson could simply ignore this law or find a loophole to try to force a no-deal Brexit on October 31.

Members of the Jewish community hold a protest against Britain's opposition Labour party leader Jeremy Corbyn and anti-Semitism in the Labour party, outside the British Houses of Parliament in central London on March 26, 2018.

Nevertheless, by reshaping their liberal, centrist organisation into a party at one extreme of the Brexit spectrum they are hoping to cash in on the anger of the 16 million voters who backed "remain" in the 2016 referendum on leaving the EU.

The pair met in Dublin last week for the first time since Mr Johnson became prime minister in July. He promised to comply with the decision of British voters.

"Nobody wants no-deal to happen and very few people want no-deal to happen".

Labour has released an analysis of Office for National Statistics data that it said showed the richest 10 per cent of Londoners hold almost two-thirds of the city's total wealth.

I played my first Test and we couldn't get a win so hopefully the 50th can be a lucky one. They are selecting a team on a genuine basis that they are all good enough to be there".

"We're talking about circumstances where we have just won a majority Liberal Democrat government on the explicit pledge and promise to revoke Article 50".

Taking aim at his former party, he is expected to tell delegates in Bournemouth: "You (Labour) can not be a champion of liberalism if you are now subject to a formal investigation by the Equality & Human Right Commission for institutional racism against Jewish people". Only a vote for Labour will deliver a public vote on Brexit.

"We can't put back a deal from Theresa May that was voted down historically". "Let's stop a no-deal Brexit - and let the people decide".

An effort to change Labour's Brexit position will start on Saturday in Brighton, where delegates will discuss 80 motions submitted by local parties in favour of campaigning to remain in a second referendum. Of course, all three main United Kingdom parties will claim to have policies to deal with those problems.

A majority of the Brexit motions submitted have been put forward either by Another Europe is Possible or two other groups, Labour for a Socialist Europe and Open Labour.

"A Government that deals with the grotesque levels of poverty and inequality in Britain and they will get the chance for a public vote under a Labour Government between Remain and a credible option which we will negotiate with the European Union". It would be utterly absurd, in those circumstances, for Labour not to campaign for remain when 90% of its members want to stay in the EU.

She'll add: "Nigel Farage might be Brexit by name, but it is very clear that Jeremy Corbyn is Brexit by nature".
