Google is planning a Nest Wifi router, report says

I can't say I'm completely surprised though: This past April, when digging through Google's Chromium code repository, I noticed a product in development dubbed "Mistral" that would integrate Google Home capabilities into a new Google Wifi product line.

The telco said that its mobile customers could link up to six mobile services to a compatible Google Assistant device and synchronise contacts.

Google's mesh Wi-Fi router Google Wi-Fi is nearly three years previous; however, it might be a different design.

"Our sources say that Google is adopting an Eero-like package with the Nest Wifi".

With the arrival of the feature, Telstra are laying claim to be the first mobile carrier in the world to offer outbound calling on Google Home and Nest devices.

If rumors are to be believed, we will get a new Google WiFi router at the Google hardware showcase next month.

"The ability to make calls through Google Nest devices means people can stay connected in a number of scenarios, whether they just have their hands full with the kids and pets, their phone is out of reach, or the elderly and disabled where greater accessibility to technology is a requirement". With that product from the Amazon-owned router maker, you have a WiFi hub of sorts that is then expanded through outlet-pluggable beacons.

OnePlus 7T Is Not Fully Perfect
However, OnePlus could potentially introduce the feature (or specific options) for OnePlus smartphone users before anyone else. The 5G functionality may also stay unused for a protracted whereas till community rollout turns into more widespread.

Finally, Google might make this new Nest WiFi in a handful (3) of colors to help match your designer digs.

According to what I've seen between April and now, Google will use Qualcomm's QCS404 and 405 SOCs, which natively support 802.11ac Wi-Fi, but are also "Wi-Fi 6 ready" for the 802.11ax protocol.

The original Google Wifi launched in 2016.

You'll be able to control the auxiliary units by voice, switching Wi-Fi on or off in different areas of your home - in case you've ever wanted to do that for some reason.

The service is coming soon to the the Nest Hub Max but is available now on Mini, Home, Home Max and Hub devices.

If you have a smart assistant in your home, you'll know it's a handy tool.
