Rubel Hossain, Shafiul Islam recalled in Bangladesh T20I squad

Afghanistan's Najibullah Zadran plays a shot during their Tri-nation Twenty20 series match against Zimbabwe at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on Saturday.

Bangladesh have rung in a host of changes following the defeat to Afghanistan, including bringing back experienced pacemen Rubel Hossain and Shafiul Islam, for their third and fourth matches of the ongoing T20I tri-series at home, where Zimbabwe are the third team. Mohammad Nabi hit 84 off 54 balls as Afghanistan posted 164-6 against Bangladesh in their second match of the tri-nation Twenty20 global tournament in Dhaka on Sunday.

Gulbadin Naib broke the partnership by removing Mahmudullah, who made 44 off 39 balls for Bangladesh before Mujeeb ended Sabbir's innings at 24 in his final over to surpass his previous best of 3-17 against Ireland.

Mohammad Nabi, who was awarded man of the match, earlier helped Afghanistan recover from 40-4 with his fourth Twenty20 worldwide fifty, which featured three fours and seven sixes. On the other hand, Bangladesh would look to exact revenge against Afghanistan and build on their 3-wicket win against Zimbabwe in the first T20I.

Afghan, who survived on 31 after a no ball from spinner Taijul Islam, scored 40 off 37.

Apart from Mujeeb's four-wicket haul, Fareed, Naib and Rashid took two each.

Selectors have included him in Bangladesh team. Bangladesh were brilliant with the ball early, but Asghar and I planned to target last five overs.

"I thought we were brilliant in the first 10 overs".

Batting first, Afghanistan's innings got off to the worst possible start when Rahmanullah was bowled by the first ball of the match, an absolute pearler from Mohammad Saifuddin which swung and nipped away before lifting off the stump and out of the ground, according to ICC report.

12 - Mohammad Nabi has won as many as 12 Player of the Match awards in T20I cricket; the most for any player in this format.

TOSS - The toss between Bangladesh vs Afghanistan will take place at 5:30 PM (IST)!
