HBO Reportedly Close to Ordering Game of Thrones House Targaryen Prequel Pilot

So fans shouldn't be surprised that HBO are developing a Thrones prequel based on Fire & Blood, a companion book for George RR Martin's Songs of Ice and Fire series that inspired the television epic.

For more details on what this prequel could consist of, check out some of our earlier reporting on Martin's new book.

For those who have lived decent enough lives to not be in the know about ASOIAF/GoT, the Targaryens are one of the central families of the series.

Focusing on Westeros during another period of civil war makes it a little too derivative of Game of Thrones for my taste, and if the hook of this new show is the dragons, I don't see why we should jump into a story where all the dragons die very rapidly and brutally. "I can not say", he wrote on his blog. It's not the only GoT spin-off project in the works at HBO: Naomi Watts is starring in a separate spin-off that began shooting this winter, and has since moved into post-production.

"Two other shows remain in the script stage, but are edging closer", Martin continued. Moreover, the reports also suggest that the history of the Houses will be shown in the prequel but none of the characters will be back as it's set 300 years back. If that's setting off alarm bells in your head because a new Thrones prequel hasn't been announced since mid-2017, that's because this isn't a new one.

Yet another 'Game of Thrones' prequel is coming

The next sentence read: "The readers among you might want to grab a copy of FIRE & BLOOD when it is released on November 20, though".

"We have had five different GAME OF THRONES successor shows in development (I mislike the term "spinoffs") at HBO, and three of them are still moving forward nicely", he wrote at the time.

"I am late coming to it, I have to say", the actress said at the Worldwide Orphan's 14th Annual Gala in New York City.

Martin apologised: "I know I should be at home writing right now, I'm sorry!"

But fear not, loyal Game of Thrones fans!

Police identified the suspect as 41-year-old Antwann Demetris Brown, who had worked at Dyke for about three and a half months. Brown was asked to clock out as a result, the acting police chief said, without giving more details about the dispute.
