Corbyn commits to second Brexit vote if Labour Party wins general election

Mr Corbyn recommitted to a second referendum on Brexit, which he said would include a "credible option to Leave" as well as Remain.

Mr Banks funded the Leave.EU campaign during the 2016 EU referendum and also bankrolled UKIP during Mr Farage's time as leader of his former party.

In exchange, Mr Farage called on Mr Johnson not to field candidates against Brexit Party hopefuls in Leave-supporting areas in the North, the Midlands and Wales that are now held by Labour.

"Not like the extremists who have taken over this party and are dragging it into the mud", he added.

"All I'm saying, to do with my own personal contribution, let's all give a little and maybe we can find a way through this".

Party policy is to push for a general election later this year, after they are certain that Boris Johnson can't deliver a no-deal Brexit on 31 October.

"We are calling for parliament to be recalled immediately", said Scottish National Party lawmaker Joanna Cherry, who led the legal challenge, after Scotland's Court of Session ruled the prorogation should be annulled.

"I want to lead a Labour government that will bring people together, and a relationship with Europe, either in the European Union or an effective trading relationship with Europe, in which we have a dynamic relationship on regulations and rights so we don't become a Donald Trump island, on the edge of Europe, undermining the social advances that have been made".

Mr Watson said that so much has changed since the original referendum in 2016 it was "no longer a valid basis" for determining Britain's future and the priority should be a new public vote before an election.

Johnson has sought an election since last week because he insisted a move by MPs to block a no-deal Brexit on October 31 had wrecked his negotiation position with the European Union and left him with no choice but to go to the polls.

Shadow Brexit secretary Sir Keir Starmer stopped short of fully endorsing Mr Watson, but said Labour is united around the idea that another referendum on Brexit should be included in the party's manifesto. "Nothing could be further from the truth", he said.

Likewise, he noted that the Conservative Party would use a hard Brexit as an excuse to sell-off public services, do away with regulations that protect the United Kingdom population and strip workers of their rights.

'What do they have to fear?'

The poll was conducted between September 6 and 8, with 2,016 British adults surveyed. 'That's why Parliament is in recess now because you always have a recess before a Queen's Speech.

Mr Farage claimed that Dominic Cummings" opinion of the Brexit Party was "petty'.

The Government described the scope of the information requested as "disproportionate and unprecedented", adding in a statement after the vote: "We will consider the implications of this vote and respond in due course".
