Frosty-ccino combines cold brew coffee with either chocolate or vanilla Frosty cream.

A "honey butter chicken biscuit", which can already be found in select stores, will also be added to the national menu. The company said it's planning on hiring about 20,000 new United States employees.

Several of Wendy's competitors have revamped their breakfast menus within the past year to some success. Its motto was "Only Wendy's has breakfast like we do". The company has toyed with the idea of going nationwide for a few years, BrandEating has reported, but didn't take the leap until now.

The burger chain said Monday that it plans to bring breakfast items across its US restaurants in 2020. The company expects to spend about $20 million to serve breakfast throughout the country, and is lowering its 2019 financial outlook. Attempts have gone as far back as the 1980s, 2006 to 2009 and even 2010, according to a report from restaurant-focused editorial QSR Magazine. In a note to investors, Bernstein analyst Sara Senatore said breakfast is a hard market for restaurants to crack. Next year all stores will be offering breakfast sandwiches, coffee and more.

Breakfast foods aren't the only new additions to Wendy's menu.

A fast food chain known for its "fresh, never frozen" burgers will begin offering breakfast nationwide in 2020.

People interested in applying for a position should visit careers.wendys.com or a local Wendy's, the company said.

In August, Wendy's announced the return of its famous spicy chicken nuggets, describing them on Twitter as "better than anyone expects from a fast food joint".
