Takeaways from Team USA's 16-point win over Greece in second round

Takeaways from Team USA's 16-point win over Greece in second round

Barnes wasn't hurt, but Boston Celtics Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart were among those that let the Antetokounmpo brothers know that they didn't appreciate the risky nature of the play.

Greece: The outcome came five years to the day after the Greeks were ousted by Serbia in the Round of 16 at the 2014 World Cup. "Obviously, USA is the best team in the tournament right now so we'll be prepared and have the right mindset coming in".

"We showed a crowd every time he touched it", Smart said.

In fact, often it is the opposite: They allow the big names to be beat up more than they'd allow others.

"Pop called me and told me I just want you sleep a little easier", Harris said, "and he told me we're going to have Harrison (Barnes) guard him".

Antetokounmpo had a few jaw-dropping dunks to inspire the crowd, finishing with 15 points on 7-of-11 shooting, but if the USA was going to get beat, it was going to be by players other than Antetokounmpo.

The game between Greece and Team USA ended in an unexpected and tense way.

The first trailer shows Arthur Fleck a struggling and depressed stand-up comedian and amateur clown living in Gotham City. He wants to make an elevated comic-book movie, and Warner Bros. clearly wants that too, but that's not what they got.

Popovich, for better or worse, is maybe the biggest American star here, even if he rejects the concept out of hand.

Antetokounmpo started as he meant to go on, scoring seven consecutive points with thunderous dunks and a three-point jump shot that lit up the packed stadium. Antetokounmpo and Greece (2-1) will be the opponent when the USA (3-0) opens second-round play on Saturday night, in what's essentially a must-win game for the Greeks in their quest to reach next week's quarterfinals.

"Game was over, so probably was a frustration play or something of that nature", Barnes said.

It's only halfway toward the journey, the U.S.is 4-0 in the World Cup but has four more left.

Greece has been playing Antetokounmpo at center a lot, which doesn't happen in the National Basketball Association, mostly because this way he can easily attack the zone defenses that are common in the World Cup. Marcus Smart was in the middle of it all, too. "We'll be ready to go, we're not afraid of anybody". Considered by some as a favourite outside of Team USA leading into the tournament, Greece must now win by at least 12 points on Monday and get help from Team USA in order to advance to the quarterfinal round.

The Czechs led at half-time and, despite a strong third quarter from Greece, their hopes were dashed in the final reckoning as Antetokounmpo was forced out of the game after being pinged for a contentious charge.

"Looking forward to it", Brown said.
