Explosion At U.S. Embassy In Kabul On 9/11 Anniversary

A US -led invasion of Afghanistan shortly after the 2001 attack toppled the Taliban, who had harbored Usama bin Laden, the Al Qaeda leader and attacks mastermind.

U.S. Marine General Kenneth McKenzie, the head of U.S. Central Command, said during a visit to Afghanistan that the Taliban overplayed its hand in the peace negotiations by carrying out a spate of high profile attacks, including one that killed a U.S. soldier last week. His discovery of this foundational problem came when Khalilzad and the Taliban had all but stitched up an agreement to facilitate fulfilment of Trump's election promise - withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan. A U.S. service member was also killed. Over the weekend, plans to host a Taliban delegation in the United States were cancelled after the militant group took credit for a suicide auto bombing in Kabul that killed twelve, including a USA soldier.

There was also widespread consternation at the characteristically unpredictable manner of Trump's negotiating style.

In a tweet, he accused journalists of making an attempt 'to create the look of turmoil within the White Home, of which there's none'.

"In terms of advisers, I took my own advice", he later told reporters.

A giant a part of Trump's 2016 election victory and subsequent first time period in workplace has been his willpower to maintain the U.S. out of what he sees as pointless wars in Syria and different principally Muslim global locations.

Despite a fiercely pro-Israeli foreign policy and the presence of hawks like National Security Adviser John Bolton in his Cabinet, he has so far resisted escalating the military standoff with longtime foe Iran.

They would like to be able to solve their problem", Trump said, adding that "we could solve it (the problem) in 24 hours". The UN nuclear watchdog says it has confirmed that Iran has installed advanced centrifuges for uranium enrichment.

In the almost 18 years of fighting since then, the number of U.S. troops in Afghanistan soared to 100,000 and dropped dramatically after bin Laden was killed in neighbouring Pakistan in 2011.

It is widely thought that Trump has been pushing for a withdrawal of USA troops in time for his 2020 reelection bid.

Trump repeated on Monday that he needed 'to get out by the earliest attainable time'. "If they can not agree to a ceasefire during these very important peace talks, and would even kill 12 innocent people, then they probably don't have the power to negotiate a meaningful agreement anyway", he tweeted late on September 7.

In their response to Trump, the Taliban claimed they were ready to begin the "intra-Afghan talks" on September 23, and warned that his announcement of "an end to negotiations... will harm America more than anyone else..."

"I've never believed that a deal with the Taliban is either easy or imminent", Senator Marco Rubio said. Or is there a plan to resume talks with the Taliban later?

'I do not see the place these negotiations go. "At a certain point you have to say that's long enough".

'However proper now they're murdering too many individuals'.
