Madness ensues in new trailer for ‘The Lighthouse’

This absolutely gorgeous looking film is directed by Robert Eggers (The Witch) and involves two lighthouse keepers on a mysterious island in New England. "What?" "WHAT?!?" That's essentially the exchange in the wild new trailer for "The Lighthouse", in which Willem Dafoe and Robert Pattinson get into an epic shouting match over, quite literally, nothing. All the while, Willem Dafoe and Robert Pattinson are engaged in a tense clash of words for dominance, the outcome unknown.

The Lighthouse had its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in May.

The clip begins as Pattinson's Thomas asks Dafoe's Ephraim about the former lighthouse keeper, to which Ephraim informs that he went mad.

Iran's Dark Fleet of Tankers Poses Oil Market's Biggest Mystery
On Saturday, Iran said its coast guard seized a tugboat allegedly carrying contraband fuel and arrested 12 Filipino crew members. The tanker was seized on charges of transporting oil to Syria , thus violating global sanctions.

A24 has released a new trailer for the movie, and though it doesn't give us much on plot, it does hint at how dark and weird the movie is going to be.

Rory O'Connor said in his review, "For all its finely considered dread, the reason Robert Eggers' ungulate-deifying debut The Witch made such a cultural mark had far more to do with its sense of mischief". It also screened at the Toronto International Film Festival this weekend. It was captured entirely on black-and-white 35mm film with an an aspect ratio of 1.19:1, making it look like a horror movie that was shot a long time ago.

The Lighthouse arrives in limited release to Los Angeles and NY theaters on October 18 before a wider release sometime afterward.
