Android fans have new reason to celebrate

Opera fans will be pleased to see support for Speed Dials, which offer a way to quickly access and organize bookmarks.

There are also some more unusual features like an integrated notes tool which syncs between your devices, the ability to switch search engines on the fly and an option to screenshot either the visible area of the browser or an entire webpage.

Despite the "beta" tag, Vivaldi for Android is fully featured from the off. You can either use the dark way or continue using the light mode while the overall design aims to provide a better user interface and more straightforward navigation. When it launched more than four years ago, Vivaldi challenged not just the big players in the market but also the status quo by actually filling the browser with built-in features others would relegate to third-party extensions. Popular desktop browser Vivaldi is now available on Android as a beta release, giving you yet another option to try out if you're bored or dissatisfied with the current crop of browsers. There's a built-in notes tool too, for jotting down memos and lists without opening another app, plus the ability to take screenshots of entire webpages (not just what's now visible on the screen). It's fast and easy to use - and if you're already using Vivaldi on the desktop, it's a no-brainer. The browser search bar allows searching using any installed search engine.

"At Vivaldi, we've always believed that true innovation is only possible through an open, collaborative approach".

Vivaldi finally goes mobile, although only in beta testing for now

One key feature for Vivaldi on Android is Notes that allows users to add checklists, agenda items, or facilitate a research project without messing with switching apps.

To let you open a website on multiple tabs, Vivaldi on Android comes with a Clone Tab option that is available from the main menu. "This beta is our way of saying "thanks" for your continued support and patience", said Vivaldi co-founder and CEO Jon von Tetzchner in a blog post. Users can choose which data to sync, including bookmarks and speed dials, saved passwords and autofill information, history (with only typed URLs) and uniquely Notes. It also has a focus on security and privacy, so the company doesn't collect excessive user data and uses end-to-end encryption for its sync function.

The reader view enabled from Settings under Accessibility option helps users read news and online articles on the phone without any distraction.
