Packers D, Aaron Rodgers beat Bears 10-3 in opener

The Chicago Bears could only muster three points against a strong Green Bay Packers defense on Thursday night during the opening game of the 2019 National Football League season.

Not that this is a Super Bowl-contending team yet, but it has the makings of a top-10 defense - something the Packers haven't had since the championship-winning group ranked fifth.

"Three points is ridiculous", coach Matt Nagy said.

Green Bay fielded eight new starters in Chicago, and the Packers' four primary acquisitions - Za'Darius Smith, Preston Smith, Adrian Amos and Darnell Savage - had a wire-to-wire impact. But he is a two-time league MVP, and he hit Jimmy Graham in the second quarter for the only touchdown. But it could do little with the ball and the Packers had five sacks of Mitchell Trubisky, who never found his stride, and was sacked on Chicago's final offensive play.

As advertised, the Packers' defense was much improved from a year ago, but the Bears' offense was not. That's why we bring these guys in because what they do is, they don't point fingers.

By the looks of it, the Mate 30 Pro is going with a new design strategy by revamping the overall form factor of the device. At the bottom, you will see another mic, loudspeaker grill, USB Type-C port, and an ejectable SIM-card tray.

The opening series couldn't have been uglier for Green Bay.

But the Packers won't care one bit how they got the victory. And then Rodgers made one Rodgers-like play - a 47-yard bomb to Marquez Valdes-Scantling that, according to NFL Next Gen stats traveled 53.5 yards in the air for his fourth-longest completion through the air in the last three seasons.

Bears fans rejoiced in relief on the first score of the season: Pineiro's 38-yard first-quarter field goal. Now that the experience is heading to Soldier Field, the receiver can't wait.

The Packers totaled 213 yards and converted just 2-of-12 third downs.

After all, Nagy arrived to Soldier Field donning the signature fedora hat of George "Papa Bear" Halas and called for the T-formation on the offense's first play for the second year in a row before his offense proceeded to muster only a field goal in a performance that wasn't exactly a solid display of modernized football.
