Raiders GM Mike Mayock speaks out Antonio Brown situation

Raiders GM Mike Mayock speaks out Antonio Brown situation

Brown showed a letter from general manager Mike Mayock in which he was informed he would be fined $13,950 because he missed the Raiders' August 22 walkthrough and it was an "unexcused" absence.

Rapoport said that after screaming at each other Brown told Mayock that he'd hit him in the face, then punted a nearby football and said "Fine me for that". He said he had no other update.

ESPN first reported the incident between Brown and Mayock and the possibility of a suspension.

The Raiders acquired the seven-time Pro Bowl selection from the Pittsburgh Steelers in a trade in March and later signed him to a three-year, $50.125 million contract. If that happens, they could also release him without having to pay him out. Brown was forced to sit out of training camp practice due to frostbite on his feet. He skipped practice on August 18, prompting Mayock to issue an ultimatum for Brown to be "all in or all out" and also handing him a $40,000 fine.

China says trade talks with U.S. to take place in October
This week China said it had lodged a complaint against the U.S. with the World Trade Organization (WTO), one day after new tariffs came into force.

It was later revealed Wednesday that Brown has a new helmet for the 2019 season.

The fines came in the middle of Brown's saga over which helmet he was allowed to use.

In large white lettering over the letter displayed in Brown's Instagram story, A.B. wrote, "When your own team want to hate, but there's no stopping me now devil is a lie". Steelers coach Mike Tomlin benched Brown during the regular-season finale against Cincinnati after the wide receiver went radio silent in the final 48 hours before the game.
